Partnerships in Emergency Preparedness Workshop

The purpose of the “Partnerships in Emergency Preparedness: A Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Preparedness (FBCI) Workshop” is to engage the Homeland Security stakeholders, including the private sector, governmental agencies, non-profit groups such as non-governmental organizations and faith-based groups in a strategic partnership to develop a national culture of preparedness.

       
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT UPDATE:
Required S.B. 11 Training
The 2007 Homeland Security Bill, S.B. 11, mandates that certain appointed public officers complete three hours of emergency management training.

TxHSA has been approved to raise funds for the production of three 1-hour mandated videos for appointed leaders throughout the state on Emergency Preparedness.

BORDER SECURITY SYMPOSIUM
Tuesday, April 17, 2007- UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) Richardson, TX
Technology-based presentations will be made by Senator Cornyn, Texas Instruments RFID, Fujitsu wireless mesh networks, and L-3 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) border surveillance.

The event will be held at the UTD campus on Tuesday, April 17 from 12:00-5:30pm and a networking reception from 5:30-7:00pm
